The is an perfect example of a fun game!
Its not always visual quality that matters, sometimes you have to drag fun over quality.
I loved the flying system, and bombing away innocent people, add to that the hilarious drawings, lovely and fun game.
As i said, visual quality is not always that matters, but that doesn't get you a high grade on the Graphics level, though that doesn't matter if your game is fun.
But one thing was verry nicely done about the grapics, the explosions and ignitions of the rockets, those where lovely.
The sounds where fairly well done, they weren't real quality work but they added points to the hilarious fun level though. :)
Add lots of voilence and humour to that, and you got this game... Lovely fun stress releaving time waster.

They wheren't that nice, but it doesn't matter.
Explosions and ignitions where verry nicely done.

Fun, what can i say more, crazy action shooting people down from a plane, didn't see a game like this that often.

It wasn't that great, but on the other hand it fits this game just fine!

Killing people from a plane, endless voilence. :)
Interactivity - 8
There was mutch to do, nice set of weapons and upgrades, leveling and special attacks, but after a while it may become repetetive though, add to that that leveling gets a bit TOO slow after a while.
Humor - 8
Hilarious shooting and random voilence, nothing more to say. :)

How to improve?
Well this might seem hard or strange, but just take these as idea's.
Money system, instead of leveling maybe you could allow us pitstops beetween levels where we can purchase lives, upgrades, weapons etc.
More enemies,
How about, naval enemies? Killing people on a cruiser, air enemies, robots, futuristic enemies, mutants, monsters... and go on :)
Other planes
How about planes wich allow more weapons, or wich are more powerfull or could take more fire?
But then again, these are just idea's.
As a final word, this is a very fun game, keep on going like this. :)

first of all; thanks for taking the time to write such an epic review.
I agree with most of your comments. About the leveling going too slow; Once you defeat Tom Fulp, you more or less completed the game. Everything after that point gets very hard on purpose.
Money system; I don't really like money systems.. at least not is random violence games. Take a look at grand theft auto. You hit someone, and get money for it.. who came up with that idea!? :P That's why I just left it at a experience system. Not that realistic as well, but I think it's better.
More Enemies;
I planned on making more enemies. But the game got slow after a while (It's my first game in flash, and making it was my flash-learning process) so I decided to leave it at the number of enemies I already had. I had plans for enemy planes/choppers/ground turrets. Too bad:P You'll see that in Happy Cyclops Land 2 (and they will look better, since I'll stick to programming then.) Oh and mutants, monsters... Happy Halloween land maybe ^^ .
Other planes is a nice idea.. but I didn't feel like drawing more of them at the time.

Well at first glance, this is a nice game, but it is badly unbalaned.
The mayor problem is that the only tactic to win from most enemies is just spamming the jump-attack at them, they'll most likely use attacks wich outrange yours, and they use special attacks on you when you stand up and can't do anything about it.
Another downpoint was that combat was a bit choppy, some heroes just attack, then after the attack wait one seconds, whilst the enemy is kicking my ass, literaly.
The last problem was that the enemy somehow deals far more damage, i used some special attacks and the enemy somehow had 90% health left, he knocked me down and used a special attack on me, when i couldn't do anything about it and i was 50%, wierd.
The storyline was also a bit weird and bland, but thats what i espect from a game like this, i would like to see more interactivity or animation in the story, reading just textboxes beetween the fights is just plain boring and pointless, if you ask me atleast.
The game itself was pretty nice, the fighting was fun, but yet could become boring because there are not mutch other elements in the game other than just fighting and button smashing.
The animation was pretty well done, though the grapics themselves could sometimes be improved, for example by making some static images with photoshop rather than flash limited capebilities.
The sound was nice, the music looped nice, yet i am missing a little mute button whilst playing.
Interactivity was also decent enough, though it just misses some other elements like for example walking around without fight, buying equipment or exploring for example.
My rates are as following, added with an explanation.
Grapics - 7
The animation and grapics where well done.
Though on some static images you could see that the grapics where done with flash, not that beautiful.
What i would like to see is animated cutscenes, instead of text boxes though.
Style - 7
Fighting, fighting and fighting.
Just misses other things.
The fact that the only way you could win from some outranging attack spamming bosses was just jumping them to death also toned down this rating.
Sound - 8
Good enough, nice loops and nice sound effects.. miss a mute button here though.
Voilence - 8
This game resembles pure voicelence, can't rate it low on this factor.
Interactivity - 7
While the game offers more modes of play, they all resemble just plain fighting, i miss other elements.
Humor - 4
Other than that *fart* joke, i didn't see any more funny things, doesn't matter.
All in all, nice game you got there, but you might want to work on the things i pointed out.
Also idea's for things too ad might be, exploring, missions and buyable items?
Put this review into some thought, overal nice game you have here.. but could be better.

OK, at first, I do not want to respond to this, but to tell you the truth, I thank you for your opinion but there are really some stuff I do not agree with.

It's nice and NOT badly unbalanced because...

No, that is the only tactic that YOU know. There are lots of other tactics. With the accurate timing and strategy, you can beat those range moves.

Your timing wasn't right. YOu mean wait one second? Well, the enemies also wait one second or more. If they can take advantage of it, you can do the same to them (if you are good enough)

Different characters have different strengths and weaknesses. Some have shorter lifebars and weaker strength but greater speed. Use the character's strength to fight. For example, if you are using Fitz, use his long-range attacks. If you are using Eric, go all out because he is fast, but when your enemy is attacking, dodge and block because his life is shorter. That kind of stuff. If everyone was of the same skill level, where's the fun in that?

Who says so? There are. You just haven't discovered them.

This one I agree half. Photoshop would be cool but with 1 person (myself) doing everything, for EVERYONE else, who will get it for FREE, don't you think nicely drawn FLASH images would be MORE than enough?

You CAN turn off the sound, you know.

Thanks for rating the graphics high, but ANIMATED CUTSCENES? Yea, if I could and had a team of animators, I WOULD do that. I don't. With deadlines, limitations and all, please understand that you can't compare this to a company game. Would it be FEASIBLE to do stuff like that? You'll probably complain again if the cutscenes had some flaws.
I praise you for going in depth playing the game and reviewing but no, you didn't go deep enough. I can also tell that you perhaps aren't a fighting game enthusiast. This game IS for fighting game enthusiasts, therefore the "elements" whatever they are that you want would definitely be missing from this game as THIS IS meant to be a pure fighting game.
Exploring, missions, buyable items, those aren't fighting game stuff. Thanks for telling me this is a nice game, I could do better, like you said, but if I did (in your context), it would mean RPG + Strategy + Fighting game. Something that even company games can rarely accomplish. Your standard is too high.

First of all i'd like to say, exelent idea for a game, verry creative.
Though if you scambled this on paper, it sounds better than it does right now.
So i'll go over some mayor flaws, wich make this rather unique idea less than decent.
First off all, one of my mayor complaints is that when you lay down pieces, sometimes it just automaticly switches to the "hand" icon wich makes all my pieces fall while i'm still building my track.
This could be fixed by making the tipping "hand" cursor selectable, and not making the pieces fall while building.
Another complaint was that making round turns was verry hard, this may be less hard when the above problem has been fixed though.
And my last complaint is the music, its gets you in the christmas mood but its too repetetive, you could improve this by allowing us to select from different tracks or allowing us to mute the music.

They where nice, but they where not exeptional.
Style - 8
Unique idea, but sadly the game itself is still a little poor. Improvement of the game would allow this to be a great game!
Sound - 6
The sound is rather bland and repitative, adding more tracks and allowing us to mute the music would be great.

No violence, but thats no problem.
Interactivity - 7
This is a game ofcourse, you must do certain things and there is a challange, and you can also choose from a free build mode.
This could be better if more object where added, like tricks or bigger blocks.
Humor - 0
Didn't notice any humor in this game, but this doesn't matter.
Overall - 7
Great idea, decent game. It coud've been better.
If you improve the above aspects, and add more interactivity, this game easly deserves a 9.

This game is overal fun too play, and there is alot of interactivity ( ie. buying weapons, gaining money, killing enemies ) but it lacked something... A plot, a story! It felt too arcade, it could've been so mutch better if there was a story present.
Another thing that wasn't quite right, was the fact that its so fast paced, on level 4 i had the minigun ( the most expensive weapon ) and a few upgrades, the only thing that could kill me then was boredom.
Some new weapons and things to do would never hurt, maybe placeable turrets or mines, or even people that would help you, or after each few rounds, a minigame or mission, and special items/weapons to obtain, and most importantly, a story.
Grapics - 7
Menu was very nicely done, the special effects and grapics ingame where also nicely made.
Style - 8
Defend your base game with unique things added, like collecting money by walking to floating money icons and you'll have to kill aliens instead of medival people.
Sound - 6
There where 2 soundtracks, and there where some SFX, though they where a bit blant.
Violence - 7
Killing aliens, no major gore.
Interactivity - 8
4 Dificulties, 10 weapons, 4 upgrades, lots of enemies, lots of killing, thus alot to do.
Humor - 0
No humor.

when it gets too easy...i just suggest cranking up the difficulty levels.
actually...there are 4 soundtracks.
i'll increase the cost of the minigun...
If you have any ideas for weapons, i'd be glad to add them. I'm really going to go for missions next time...

"Hard to controll, and a little bug."
Okay first off all, the game was hard to control!
The only way you could proper controll this was to do 1 unit at a time with the keyboard keys but with one unit at a time you'll be slaughtered...
And for the bug... when you finish campain mode and then go back to mainmenu, start a quickmatch, take your players and then take your flag then start the game will bug.
Anyway, nice unique gameplay and grapics.
And nice minigames too.
But the music was a bit weird.. oh well.

I can still see how mutch effort you put into this coding it, must've been a hell to go trough coding this baby.
This looks fun,though i have no webcam i can still see you've put lots of effort into it and i'm sure if you make any other of these it'll be a great success, can't wait to play it if i get a webcam.

i can tell you, the coding was pretty tough... also i coded a lot of it without even having a webcam :D! At the start it was just a theoretical coding exercise that turned out really badly, all in all took me a pretty long time... but i think its worth it :D

The grapics and animation where very cool, the gameplay itself too but it is just too hard... how are you be able to stop 4 white guys from your left and right? can't seem to avoid them and if you turn you are dead and you can't outrun them...

If you are unable to shoot all the white guys you can sidestep them by pressing Turn. I suppose the only advice I can give is be quick and accurate, and that can get you out of most situations. And there are times when youve gotta walk backwards to dispose of enemies.
If you can't dispose of the enemies quickly enough they will gang up pretty bad.
Ill take your advice though, and be sure to make my next game easier.
If I had of included a demo of how I go about playing the game it might have made things easier.

When i started the game and looked the main menu it looked realy promising.
Choosing the tank, 3 3d rendered tanks looked pretty cool with 3 different weapons.
But then i started to play and... all had the same weapon, all had a strange laser cannon wich didn't fit into the game at all.
The game itself was rather boring, the cannon bullets looked crap.
You couldn't made this way cooler having the different tanks actualy having different properties, like different realistic weapons instead of a "balloon cannon" and a "laser cannon" etc.
All summed up : The game looked promising with a cool main menu but the actual game was plain and boring.
